With the start of spring
here, we are excited to embrace the change of seasons. The end of winter was a
great finale—the extra snowfall helped the ski conditions and the hi-country
water levels.
With regular operations at
Durango Mountain Resort finished, the resort will be open for one more weekend
of skiing. Winter ended on a great note, with some new snow late in the
week. Specifically, we would like to thank all of the people who helped
with the fundraiser held at DMR for Zane Bilgrav. As a long time local, Zane
has worked in the scuba diving community, and he served as a real estate
broker for DMR and at The Wells Group earlier in his career. He is now battling
stomach cancer, and DMR held an amazing “Zaney Beach Party” to support Zane and
his family. What a fantastic way to finish the winter season!
Now, we look ahead to
spring. I am excited to play more tennis, and Andy Ratcliffe, a real estate
broker at The Wells Group mentioned the excellent fly fishing this last
weekend. Hiking is more accessible. For golfers, more courses are open.
Mountain bikers may expand their trails from the winter routes. Four wheel
drive roads will soon be easier to navigate and explore. Longer days make for
enjoyable dinners outside. The perfect temperature makes Mesa Verde an awesome
day trip, and the Utah canyon country is at its finest. Lake trips are just
around the corner.
The options are nearly
endless for spring activities in Durango. We hope you and your family enjoy the
time outside and the time together this spring season.
